JACK CITY BLUES BAND'S music is a unique combination of high energy blues, jump blues, rock and swing. The band plays with energy and enthusiasm, resulting in fun, uplifting, feel-good music that comes from the heart and gets people to their feet.
Once known as the popular group, Grand Central Station, the band competed with 42 states, winning Band of the Year for the Country Music Associations of America. As a result of receiving Band of the Year honors, Jack Naughton was offered a recording contract by Joey Welz, piano player for Bill Haley and the Comets and owner of Caprice Records. He declined the deal because of a desire to return home to his roots in blues. Forming the Jack City Blues Band, Jack and Sandra recruited the drumming talents of Terry Pfrimmer.
Because of their background and reputation, these performers were able to attract the attention of Creedance Clearwater producer Russ Gary, who is also the musical producer of several television sitcoms including Family Matters, Grounded for Life and Jessie. This meeting led to an original recording project, working with such top caliber musicians as Jay Dee Manis (Desert Rose Band) on pedal steel guitar, and John Rekevics, who performed the sax background on several musical projects with Bonnie Raitt.
JACK CITY BLUES BAND credits include opening act for such greats as Steve Earle, Marshall Tucker, Asleep at the Wheel and others; television, live radio broadcasts and infomercials; performances in the Mother Goose Parade, at Santa Anita Racetrack, Qualcomm Stadium and the Chula Vista Lemon Festival; charity events for abused children, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Toys for Tots and Relay for Life Cancer Benefits.
To fully experience the Jack City Blues Band you must see them live exhibiting their talents. "Our desire is to touch people's lives and make them happy through our music." And the Jack City Blues Band does just that.
"Love your audience, they'll love you back."
